REAR LEAF SPRING REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. DISCONNECT REAR STABILIZER BAR (w/ Rear Stabilizer)

  2. SUPPORT FRAME


    1. Jack up and support the frame on stands.

    2. Support the rear axle housing using a jack.

    3. Lower the rear axle housing until the rear spring tension is free, and keep it at this position.

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  4. DISCONNECT REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and washer and disconnect the rear shock absorber assembly from the rear axle housing.

  5. REMOVE REAR SPRING U BOLT


    1. A01CHYM

      Remove the 4 nuts, 2 rear spring U bolts and the spring U bolt seat sub-assenbly.

    2. Remove the rear upper spring seat.

  6. REMOVE REAR SPRING ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut and the through bolt on the front end.

      Note

      Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

      *a Rear side

      Remove the No. 2 shackle spring and rear No. 2 spring shackle sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.

    3. Remove rear spring assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 4 SPRING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the No. 4 spring bracket sub-assembly with the 4 nuts and 4 bolts.
