Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  • The specified torque for standard bolts is shown in the standard bolt chart Click here.

  • Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed on it. Substitute standard bolts for the centering bolts when making adjustments.


  1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to D are within the standard ranges.

  2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

  3. REMOVE FRONT SIDE PANEL LH

  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR LH

      Remove the 2 bolts and front No. 2 side panel protector LH.

  5. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

  6. ADJUST FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Using SST, loosen the hinge bolts on the body and adjust the door position.

      SST

    2. Tighten the hinge bolts on the body after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 230 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

    3. Loosen the hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.

    4. Tighten the hinge bolts on the door after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 230 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

      Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, slightly loosen the striker mounting screws.

    6. Using a brass bar and hammer, hit the striker to adjust its position.

    7. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the striker mounting screws.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 230 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

  7. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

  8. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR LH


    1. Install the front No. 2 side panel protector LH with the 2 bolts.

  9. INSTALL FRONT SIDE PANEL LH
