FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Power Window)

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Power Window)

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      *1 Protective Tape

      Insert a clip remover between the front door regulator inside handle plate and front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the clip remover tip before use.

    2. Turn the handle clockwise to remove the snap ring, front door window regulator handle assembly and front door regulator inside handle plate.

  4. REMOVE FRONT UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL LH (w/o Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, detach the clip.

    2. Detach the guide and remove the front upper armrest base panel LH.

  5. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (w/ Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, detach the clip and 2 claws.

    2. Detach the guide.

    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH

      Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the 4 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel LH.

  7. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the door assist grip cover LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 4 bolts and door assist grip assembly LH.

  9. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CIYU

      Remove the front ash receptacle assembly.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the clip.

    2. A01CIZB

      Detach the 8 clips and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. A01CJ7N

      Pull the front door inner glass weatherstrip LH in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove it.

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the clamp.

    2. A01CH81

      Detach the claw and slide the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH to detach the 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

    3. A01CH95

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control link LH and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Remove the front door service hole cover LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any remaining butyl tape from the front door panel.

    2. Pass the link and wire harness through the front door service hole cover LH.

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. w/ Power Window:


      1. Temporarily install the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

      2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      3. Move the front door glass sub-assembly LH so that the front door glass bolts can be seen.

      4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      5. Remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

    2. w/o Power Window:


      1. Temporarily install the front door window regulator handle assembly.

      2. Move the front door glass sub-assembly LH so that the front door glass bolts can be seen.

    3. A01CHOZ

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Note

      After the bolts are removed, do not allow the front door glass sub-assembly LH to fall.

    4. A01CINOE01

      Remove the front door glass sub-assembly LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the front door glass sub-assembly LH.

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. w/ Power Window:

        *1 Temporary Bolt

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

        Note

        Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

      3. Remove the 5 bolts and front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

      4. Remove the temporary bolt.

    2. w/o Power Window:


      1. A01CH63

        Remove the 5 bolts and front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH


    1. A01CI81

      Remove the front door glass run LH.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01CGQ9

      Remove the 2 bolts and front door rear lower frame sub-assembly LH.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK CONTROL KNOB


    1. A01CHKL

      Turn the front door lock control knob in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and remove it from the front door lock assembly LH.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL LINK LH

      Detach the front door lock remote control link LH from front door lock link clamps.

      Detach the front door lock locking snap and remove the front door lock remote control link LH.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Power Door Lock)

    1. Detach the door outside handle snap and remove front door lock rod sub-assembly RH.

      Detach the door lock control link snap and remove the front door outside locking link RH.

      Disconnect the connector.

      Apply protective tape to the inner surface of the front door panel sub-assembly RH to prevent scratches.

    5. Remove the bolt.

    6. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws and front door lock assembly RH.

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Power Door Lock)

      Detach the door outside handle snap and remove the front door lock rod sub-assembly LH.

      Detach the door lock control link snap and remove the front door outside locking link LH.

      Apply protective tape to the inner surface of the front door panel sub-assembly LH to prevent scratches.

    4. Remove the bolt.

    5. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws and front door lock assembly LH.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the seal from the service hole.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and front door outside handle assembly LH.

  23. REMOVE DOOR LOCK CYLINDER LH


    1. A01CIL4

      Remove the spring and door lock cylinder LH from the front door outside handle assembly LH.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK PIN


    1. A01CGRH

      Using a hammer, remove the front door check pin.

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and front door check assembly.

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ARM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and front door check arm bracket.

  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. A01CJ9K

      Using a clip remover, detach the 41 clips and front door weatherstrip LH.

  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01CGYZ

      Remove the 5 clips.

    2. Detach the 3 clips and remove the front door trim cover sub-assembly LH.

  29. REMOVE FRONT SIDE PANEL LH

  30. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR LH

      Remove the 2 bolts and front No. 2 side panel protector LH.

  31. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. A01CJ96

      Pull the front fender to cowl side seal LH in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove it.

  32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME COVER UPPER LH


    1. A01CHEF

      Detach the 3 clips and remove the front door front lower frame upper cover LH.

  33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP OUTER LH

      Put protective tape around the front door outer glass weatherstrip LH.

    2. Detach the 6 claws and remove the front door outer glass weatherstrip.
