DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU controls the FR FOG relay.

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the intelligent tester, perform the Active Test.

      Front Fog Light Relay Front fog light relay OFF or ON Light Control switch is in TAIL or HEAD position
      OK
      FR FOG relay operates. (Front fog light illuminate.)

  2. INSPECT FRONT FOG LIGHT RELAY (FR FOG)


    1. Inspect the front fog light relay (FR FOG) Click here.


    NG

    REPLACE FRONT FOG LIGHT RELAY (FR FOG)

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT FOG LIGHT RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the front fog light relay (FR FOG) from the No. 5 relay block.

    2. Disconnect the 3A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      FR-FOG-1 - 3A-15 Always Below 1 Ω
      FR-FOG-2 - 3A-55 Always Below 1 Ω
      FR-FOG-5 - 3A-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      FR-FOG-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FR-FOG-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FR-FOG-5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU


    1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU with a new functioning one Click here.

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the intelligent tester, perform the Active Test.
