REAR WIPER MOTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET

      *a Lip

      Apply MP grease to the entire surface of the rear wiper motor grommet lip.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the hole does not clog with grease and the grooves on the lip are filled with grease.

      *a Alignment Mark

      Install the rear wiper motor grommet.

      Tech Tips

      Install the rear wiper motor grommet with its alignment mark facing up.

  2. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. B0047AWN04

      Insert the shaft of the rear wiper motor assembly through the rear wiper motor grommet, and temporarily install the rear wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

    2. Fully tighten the 3 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    3. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Operate the rear wiper motor assembly and stop at the automatic stop (park) position.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      When reusing the rear wiper arm:


      1. Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.

        Note

        Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

    5. Temporarily install the rear wiper arm and blade assembly.

      Align the rear wiper arm and blade assembly as shown in the illustration and install it with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Hold the rear wiper arm hinge by hand while tightening the nut.

      Reference Measurement
      Area Measurement
      A 10.0 mm (0.394 in.)

    7. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    8. Operate the rear wiper motor assembly while spraying washer fluid on the glass. Make sure that the rear wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

    9. Turn the ignition switch off.

    10. Raise the rear wiper arm 2 times and check that the tip of the rear wiper blade is within the range shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP


    1. Engage the 2 guides and 2 claws to install the rear wiper arm head cap.

      Note

      Push down on the rear wiper arm head cap until a click sound can be heard.
