REAR DOOR DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure described below is for the RH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH

      Disengage the claw and 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the rear door frame garnish.

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      *a Protective Tape

      Insert a clip remover with its shaft wrapped in protective tape between the window regulator handle plate and rear door trim board sub-assembly.

    2. Turn the rear door window regulator handle assembly with the clip remover inserted, as shown in the illustration.

    3. Remove the rear door window regulator handle assembly and the clip.

    4. Remove the window regulator handle plate.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (w/ Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip, 7 claws and 3 guides.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the rear door armrest base upper panel.

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (w/o Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws to remove the rear door armrest base upper panel.

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw to open the cover.

      Remove the 3 screws.

      Disengage the 7 clips.

      *1 Rear Door Inside Locking Cable Assembly
      *2 Rear Door Lock Remote Control Cable Assembly

      Disconnect the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and rear door inside locking cable assembly to remove the rear door trim board subassembly.

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 4 guides to remove the rear door inside handle sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP

      Disengage the 7 claws to remove the rear door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

      Remove the rear door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any tape remaining on the door side.

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. Remove the nut and rear door window division bar sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. w/ Power Window:


      1. Connect the power window regulator switch assembly.

      2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      3. Move the rear door glass sub-assembly in the fully opened position.

      4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      5. Disconnect the power window regulator switch assembly.

    2. w/o Power Window:


      1. Install the rear door window regulator handle assembly.

      2. Move the rear door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolt holes can be seen.

      3. Remove the rear door window regulator handle assembly.

      Slide the lower section of the rear door glass sub-assembly as indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

      *a Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator sub-assembly may fall and cause damage.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt and rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      Remove the 3 bolts and rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

      Note

      Do not drop or damage the window regulator sub-assembly when removing the bolts.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN

      Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rear door glass run.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS OUTER WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY

  18. REMOVE NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE

  19. REMOVE NO. 4 BLACK OUT TAPE (w/ No. 4 Black Out Tape)

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door outside handle cover.

  23. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the rear door outside handle assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRONT PAD

      Disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door outside handle front pad.

  25. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REAR PAD

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door outside handle rear pad.

  26. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

      Disengage the grommet and 2 claws to remove the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  27. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and rear door check assembly.

  28. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 29 clips to remove the rear door weatherstrip.
