Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure described below is for the RH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip, 8 claws and 4 guides.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the front armrest base upper panel.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw to open the cover.

      Remove the 3 screws.

      Disengage the 7 clips.

      *2 Front Door Lock Remote Control Cable Assembly

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable assembly and the front door inside locking cable assembly to remove the front door trim board sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw to open the cover.

      Remove the 3 screws.

      Disengage the 8 clips.

      *2 Front Door Lock Remote Control Cable Assembly

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable assembly and the front door inside locking cable assembly to remove the front door trim board sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 4 guides to remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP (for 5 Door)

      Disengage the 7 claws to remove the front door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP (for 3 Door)

      Disengage the 8 claws to remove the front door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT WINDOW FRAME MOULDING

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any tape remaining on the door side.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (for 3 Door)

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any tape remaining on the door side.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    3. Connect the power window regulator master switch and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

    4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and the power window regulator master switch.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      After the bolts are removed, do not allow the front door glass sub-assembly to fall.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator sub-assembly may fall and cause damage.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt and front door window regulator sub-assembly.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN

      Remove the front door glass run.

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the front door rear lower frame sub-assembly.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the screw.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and front door front lower frame sub-assembly.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FIX WINDOW GLASS


    1. A0047OD

      Slide the front door fix window glass in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration, to remove it.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FIX WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Remove the front door fix window weatherstrip from the front door fix window glass.

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (w/ Lock Cylinder)

      Remove the hole plug.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw to remove the front door outside handle cover with the door lock key cylinder installed.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

      Disengage the claw and the 2 guides to remove the front door outside handle cover from the door lock key cylinder.

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (w/o Lock Cylinder)

      Remove the hole plug.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw to remove the front door outside handle cover.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle cover.

  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry and Start System)

      Remove the front door outside handle assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry and Start System)

      *a Protective Tape

      Using a clip remover, disengage the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws to open the connector cover.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

      Remove the front door outside handle assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRONT PAD

      Disengage the 3 claws to remove the front door outside handle front pad.

  31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REAR PAD

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle rear pad.

  32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry and Start System)

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

      Disengage the grommet and 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry and Start System)

      Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the wire harness.

    2. A0047BC

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

    3. A0047B7

      Disengage the grommet and 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD

      *a Snap

      Disengage the snap and remove the front door lock open rod as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and front door check assembly.

  36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (for 5 Door)

      Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 29 clips to remove the front door weatherstrip.

  37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (for 3 Door)

      Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 32 clips to remove the front door weatherstrip.

  38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL CUSHION

      Remove the 2 front door panel cushions.

  39. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE (for 5 Door)
