FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure described below is for the RH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      Insert a clip remover between the plate and front door trim board.

    2. Turn the handle with the clip remover inserted, as shown in the illustration.

    3. Remove the front door window regulator handle and clip.

    4. Remove the window regulator handle plate.

  4. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (w/ Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 9 claws and 4 guides.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the front armrest base upper panel.

  5. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (w/o Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 claws and 3 guides.


      1. Disconnect the connector.

        Tech Tips

        If the armrest base upper panel is equipped with door lock switch, disconnect the connector.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and open the cover.

      Remove the 3 screws.

      Disengage the 7 clips.

      *1 Front Door Lock Remote Control Cable Assembly
      *2 Front Door Inside Locking Cable Assembly

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and the front door inside locking cable and remove the front door trim board.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and open the cover.

    2. A01VFLS

      Remove the 3 screws.

    3. A01VGBZ

      Disengage the 8 clips.

      *2 Front Door Inside Locking Cable Assembly

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and the front door inside locking cable and remove the front door trim board.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 4 guides and remove the front door inside handle.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP (for 5 Door)


    1. A01VKLS

      Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP (for 3 Door)

      Disengage the 8 claws and remove the front door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT WINDOW FRAME MOULDING

  12. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING (for 3 Door)

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS OUTER WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR (for 3 Door)

  16. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (for 5 Door)

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any tape remaining on the door side.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (for 3 Door)

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any tape remaining on the door side.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    3. Connect the power window regulator master switch and move the front door glass so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

    4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and the power window regulator master switch.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    6. A01VF6KE03

      Remove the front door glass as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      After the bolts are removed, do not allow the front door glass to fall.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS NO. 1 CHANNEL

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the front door glass channel.

      Note

      Do not damage the front door glass.

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS NO. 1 CHANNEL FILLER


    1. Remove the front door glass No. 1 channel filler.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

      *1 Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall and cause damage.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt and the front door window regulator.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      *1 Temporary Bolt

      Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall and cause damage.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts.

    3. Remove the temporary bolt and the front door window regulator.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN

      Remove the front door glass run.

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the front door rear lower frame.

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VI7O

      Remove the screw.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and the front door front lower frame.

  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FIX WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A01VKTU

      Slide the front door fix window weatherstrip, in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration, to remove it.

    2. Remove the front door fix window glass from the front door fix window weatherstrip.

  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (w/ Lock Cylinder)


    1. Remove the hole plug.

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench T30, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover with the door lock key cylinder installed.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame.

    3. A01VFZD

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle cover.

  29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (w/o Lock Cylinder)


    1. Remove the hole plug.

    2. A01VICT

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench T30, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame.

    3. A01VFKG

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle cover.

  30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

  31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry and Start System)

      Remove the front door outside handle in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry and Start System)

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a clip remover, disengage the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and open the connector cover.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

      Remove the front door outside handle in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRONT PAD

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front door outside handle front pad.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REAR PAD

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle rear pad.

  35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry and Start System)

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench T30, loosen the screw.

      *1 Grommet

      Slide the front door outside handle frame and disengage the grommet and 2 claws of the front door outside handle frame, and then remove it.

  36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry and Start System)

      Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

    2. A01VESA

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench T30, loosen the screw.

      *1 Grommet

      Slide the front door outside handle frame and disengage the grommet and 2 claws of the front door outside handle frame, and then remove it.

  37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD

      Remove the front door lock open rod as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and the front door check.

  39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (for 5 Door)


    1. A01VKOQ

      Using a clip remover, disengage the clip.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 29 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip.

  40. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (for 3 Door)

      Using a clip remover, disengage the clip.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 32 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip.

  41. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL CUSHION

      Remove the 2 front door panel cushions.

  42. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE (for 5 Door)
