HEATER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Heater Switch Assembly)

      Check the resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        4 - 5 off 10 kΩ or higher
        4 - 5 on Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.

    2. Check that the heater switch indicates.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the heater switch indicates terminals.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 1 (IN)

        Battery negative (-) → 5 (E)

        		 Indicates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.

    3. Check that the heater switch illuminates.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the heater switch illuminates terminals.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 3 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (ILL-)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.
