AIR CONDITIONING UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for 1KR-FE)

    Click here

  4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for 1NR-FE)

    Click here

  5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for 1ND-TV)

    Click here

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

    Click here

  8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL

    Click here

  9. REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH

    Click here

  10. REMOVE INNER COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE

    Click here

  11. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL

    Click here

  12. REMOVE BOOSTER VACUUM TUBE (for 1ND-TV)


    1. A01VDS7

      Disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and the booster vacuum tube.

  13. DISCONNECT SUCTION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY B


    1. A01VJ58

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Turn the hook connector clockwise and disconnect the suction tube.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the suction tube.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent the entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  14. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A


    1. Disconnect the liquid tube.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube.

      Note

      Seal the opening of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent the entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  15. REMOVE FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY WITH SUPPORT (for 1ND-TV)

  16. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY B


    1. A01VLT5

      Slide the clip and disconnect the water hose from the air conditioning unit.

  17. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Slide the clip and disconnect the water hose from the air conditioning unit.

  18. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  19. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  20. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  21. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)


    1. A01VGRU

      Disengage the clamp and disconnect the wire harness.

    2. A01VLRX

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the heater to register duct.

  22. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)


    1. A01VLRX

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the heater to register duct.

  23. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

  24. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connectors and disengage the clamps, then disconnect the wire harness.

    2. A01VE4I

      Disengage the 2 claws and 3 guides and remove the defroster nozzle.

  25. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)


    1. A01VHL5

      Open the floor carpet so that the air duct can be removed and installed from the vehicle.

    2. A01VJDX

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  26. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  27. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  28. SEPARATE DRAIN COOLER HOSE

      Separate the drain cooler hose.

  29. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY (except Cold Area Specification Vehicles)


    1. A01VHXG

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and screw, then remove the instrument panel brace.

  30. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)


    1. A01VLEJ

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground wire.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and screw, then remove the instrument panel brace.

  31. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VIEF

      Disengage the clamps.

    2. Disconnect the connectors on the front side.

    3. Remove the bolt and separate the instrument panel junction block.

    4. A01VEQUE02

      Disconnect the back side connectors and remove the instrument panel junction block as shown in the illustration.

  33. SEPARATE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (for LHD)


    1. A01VHQL

      Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the connector holder.

    4. A01VGSD

      Remove the screw and the connector holder.

    5. A01VEP7

      Disconnect the connectors.

    6. Remove the bolt.

    7. Disengage the 3 clamps and remove the connector holder.

    8. A01VEK4

      for Automatic Air Conditioning System:


      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      2. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the instrument panel wire.

    9. A01VLPN

      for Manual Air Conditioning System:


      1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

      2. Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the instrument panel wire.

    10. Remove the bolts and disconnect the ground wire.

    11. Disconnect the connectors and clamps, then disconnect the instrument panel wire.

  34. SEPARATE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (for RHD)


    1. A01VHQL

      Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the connector holder.

    4. A01VE52

      Remove the screw and the connector holder.

    5. A01VEP7

      Disconnect the connectors.

    6. Remove the bolt.

    7. Disengage the 3 clamps and remove the connector holder.

    8. A01VM99

      for Automatic Air Conditioning System:


      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      2. Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the instrument panel wire.

      for Manual Air Conditioning System:


      1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

      2. Disengage the 5 clamps and disconnect the instrument panel wire.

    10. Remove the bolts and disconnect the ground wire.

    11. Disconnect the connectors and clamps, then disconnect the instrument panel wire.

  35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT


    1. Remove the 8 bolts and 3 screws, then remove the instrument panel reinforcement.

  36. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 3 bolts and nut, then remove the air conditioner unit.

  37. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      Disconnect the connectors and disengage the clamps, then remove the air conditioning harness.

  38. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Disconnect the connectors and disengage the clamps, then remove the air conditioning harness.

  39. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the claw and remove the air conditioning amplifier as shown in the illustration.

  40. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System)

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the claw and remove the air conditioning amplifier as shown in the illustration.

  41. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VHRX

      Remove the 3 screws and the air conditioning radiator.

  42. REMOVE COOLER AIR HOSE (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

      Remove the cooler air hose.

  43. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT


    1. A01VGSG

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the air duct.

  44. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT


    1. A01VJZO

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the air duct.
