DESCRIPTION

The quick heater relays is controlled in accordance with signals from the air conditioning amplifier assembly and power is supplied to the quick heater assembly installed on the radiator heater unit.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (HEATER ACTIVE LEVEL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.

    INSPECT QUICK HEATER RELAY


    1. Remove the quick heater relay.

    2. Inspect the quick heater relay (Click here).

    INSPECT QUICK HEATER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the quick heater assembly (Click here).

    2. Inspect the quick heater assembly (Click here).

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (QUICK HEATER RELAY - BATTERY AND IG1 NO. 1 RELAY)


    1. Remove the quick heater relay.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      PTC HTR NO. 1-5 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      PTC HTR NO. 1-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      PTC HTR NO. 2-3 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      PTC HTR NO. 2-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      PTC HTR NO. 3-3 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      PTC HTR NO. 3-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (QUICK HEATER RELAY - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the quick heater relay.

    2. Disconnect the F42 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      PTC HTR NO. 1-1 - F42-40 (PTC1) Always Below 1 Ω
      PTC HTR NO. 2-2 - F42-39 (PTC2) Always Below 1 Ω
      PTC HTR NO. 3-1 - F42-3 (PTC3) Always Below 1 Ω
      PTC HTR NO. 1-1 or F42-40 (PTC1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      PTC HTR NO. 2-2 or F42-39 (PTC2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      PTC HTR NO. 3-1 or F42-3 (PTC3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Remove the quick heater relay.

    2. Disconnect the A44 quick heater assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      PTC HTR NO. 1-3 - A44-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      PTC HTR NO. 2-5 - A44-3 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      PTC HTR NO. 3-5 - A44-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      PTC HTR NO. 1-3 or A44-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      PTC HTR NO. 2-5 or A44-3 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      PTC HTR NO. 3-5 or A44-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
