PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM TERMINALS OF ECU

  1. CHECK PRE-CRASH SAFETY CITY SENSOR

    A004B5SE02

    1. Disconnect the L12 pre-crash safety city sensor connector.

      Note

      • DTCs may be output when connectors are disconnected during inspection. Therefore, be sure to clear the DTCs using the GTS once the inspection has been completed.

      • If a load of more than 10 kg (22 lb) is placed on the connector, it may break. Do not place more load than is necessary on the connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
L12-9 (PCSW) - Body ground G - Body ground Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly signal Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly on Below 1 Ω
Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly off 100 kΩ or higher
L12-7 (IG1) - Body ground LG - Body ground Power source Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      L12-10 (GND) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Tech Tips

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the L12 pre-crash safety city sensor connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
L12-8 (BUZ) - Body ground*1 L - Body ground Pre-crash safety city buzzer operation signal

      Ignition switch ON

Pre-crash safety city buzzer not operating

      11 to 14 V

      Ignition switch ON

      Pre-crash safety city buzzer operating

      0 to 1.5 V
L12-8 (BUZ) - Body ground*2 L - Body ground Pre-crash safety city heater operation signal

      Ignition switch ON

Pre-crash safety city heater not operating

      11 to 14 V

      Ignition switch ON

      Pre-crash safety city heater operating

      0 to 1.5 V
L12-1 (SPR) - Body ground*2 P - Body ground Pre-crash safety city heater drive signal

      Ignition switch ON

Pre-crash safety city heater not operating

      11 to 14 V

      Ignition switch ON

      Pre-crash safety city heater operating

      0 to 1.5 V

      • *1: w/o Pre-crash Safety City Heater

      • *2: w/ Pre-crash Safety City Heater

    5. Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
L12-5 (CA1P) - Body ground R - Body ground CAN communication signal Ignition switch ON

      Pulse generation

      (See waveform 1)
