The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER
REMOVE NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
REMOVE JACK HANDLE (for RH Side)
REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT OUTER BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
SEPARATE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side)
REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side)
REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
Check that the ignition switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Disconnect the connector from the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Push and hold the white housing lock, and slide the outer connector locking sleeve.

Push and hold the white housing lock again, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve to disconnect the connector.
Remove the bolt and No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly.
Note
Loosen the bolt while holding the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly because the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
