The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH
REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
Check that the ignition switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Disconnect the connector from the side airbag sensor assembly.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Push and hold the white housing lock, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve.

Push and hold the white housing lock again, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve to disconnect the connector.
Remove the bolt and side airbag sensor assembly.
Note
Loosen the bolt while holding the side airbag sensor assembly because the side airbag sensor assembly pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
