PROCEDURE
INSPECT LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
Perform a diagnostic system check (See page SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS > AIRBAG SYSTEM (w/ VSC) > DTC CHECK / CLEAR).
With the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the instrument panel with a new one: Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
INSPECT LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has not Deployed)

For lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly removal and installation procedures, see pages and Click here, and carefully follow the correct procedure.
Perform a diagnostic system check (See page SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS > AIRBAG SYSTEM (w/ VSC) > DTC CHECK / CLEAR).
With the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, instrument panel or instrument panel reinforcement with new ones:
Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
Any cracks or other damage to the connector.
Deformation or cracks on the instrument panel or instrument panel reinforcement.
