AIRBAG SYSTEM(w/o Curtain Shield Airbag), Diagnostic DTC:B1692/81, B1693/81

DTC Code DTC Name
B1692/81 Lost Communication with Door Side Airbag Sensor RH
B1693/81 Door Side Airbag Sensor RH Initialization Incomplete

DESCRIPTION

The circuit for the side collision sensor RH (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag RH) is composed of the airbag sensor assembly and door side airbag sensor RH.

The door side airbag sensor RH detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1692/81 and B1693/81 are recorded when a malfunction is detected in the circuit for the side collision sensor RH (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag RH).

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area

B1692/81

When one of following conditions is met:

  • The airbag sensor assembly receives a line short circuit signal, an open circuit signal, a short circuit to ground signal or a short circuit to B+ signal in the circuit for the side collision sensor RH (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag RH) for 2 seconds.

  • Door side airbag sensor RH malfunction

  • Airbag sensor assembly malfunction

  • Floor wire

  • Front door wire RH

  • Door side airbag sensor RH
