DESCRIPTION

The side collision sensor LH circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag assembly LH) is composed of the airbag sensor assembly and side airbag sensor assembly LH.

The side airbag sensor assembly LH detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1625/22 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the side collision sensor LH circuit.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Interchange the side airbag sensor assembly LH with the side airbag sensor assembly RH and connect the connectors to them.

    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    6. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Click here.

    7. Turn the ignition switch off.

    8. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    9. Check for DTCs Click here.

      DTC B1625/22 is output. B
      DTC B1620/21 is output. C

      Tech Tips

      DTCs other than B1620/21 and B1625/22 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    10. Turn the ignition switch off.

    11. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    12. Return the side airbag sensor assembly RH and the side airbag sensor assembly LH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.
