  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH side.

  • The procedure described below is for LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING

      *1 Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape to the vehicle body in the area around the front door outside moulding.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the vehicle body and front door outside moulding.

      Heating Temperature
      Item Temperature
      Vehicle Body and Front Door Outside Moulding 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

      CAUTION:

      Do not burn yourself on the hot vehicle body or with the infrared light.

      Note

      Do not heat the vehicle body and front door outside moulding.

    3. Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and the front door outside moulding.

      Vehicle Body and Front Door Outside Moulding 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    5. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided adhesive tape that holds the vehicle body and front door outside moulding.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    6. Remove the front door outside moulding.
