PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    INSTALL REAR SPRING BUMPER


    1. Install the rear spring bumper to the rear suspension support assembly.

  2. Click here

    INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT STOPPER


    1. Install the rear suspension support stopper to the rear suspension support assembly.

  3. Click here

    INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the rear suspension support assembly with the rear spring bumper and rear suspension support stopper to the rear shock absorber assembly.

  4. Click here

    TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY


    1. Support the rear axle beam with a jack. Insert a wooden block between the jack and the rear axle spring seat to prevent damage.

      Note:

      Keep supporting the rear axle beam assembly with a jack until the installation of the rear shock absorber assembly is complete.

    2. Jack up the rear axle beam slowly, and temporarily install the rear shock absorber assembly (lower side) with the bolt and nut to the rear axle beam assembly.

    3. Install the rear suspension support and rear shock absorber cushion retainer.

      While keeping the piston rod from rotating, install a new nut (lower nut) to the specified standard.

      13.5 to 16.5 mm (0.531 to 0.650 in.)
      for 2ZR-FE
      15.0 to 18.0 mm (0.591 to 0.709 in.)
    5. Install a new nut (upper nut) onto the lower nut.

      Hold the lower nut and tighten the upper nut against it.

      24.5 N*m 250 kgf*cm 18 ft.*lbf

    FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY


    1. Fully tighten the rear shock absorber assembly (lower side) with the bolt while keeping the nut from rotating.

      49 N*m 500 kgf*cm 36 ft.*lbf
      Note:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
