OIL COOLER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER


    1. Apply a light coat of Toyota Genuine CVT fluid FE to 2 new O-rings and install them to the transmission oil cooler.

    2. Install the transmission oil cooler to the continuously variable transaxle assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Make sure that the O-rings are not damaged or do not jump out of position during installation.

  2. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses to the transmission oil cooler and slide the 2 hose clamps to secure them.

      Note

      Securely push the water by-pass hoses over each pipe fitting on the transmission oil cooler until the water by-pass hoses contact the rib on each pipe fitting.

  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  4. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  5. ADJUST CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID

  6. INSPECT FOR CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID LEAK

  7. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
