FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL


    1. A01VI5XE01

      Using SST, remove the No. 1 CVT type T oil seal.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL


    1. A01VHP5E01

      Using SST, remove the No. 2 CVT type T oil seal.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL

      *a Oil Seal Drive-in Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install a new No. 2 CVT type T oil seal.

      Oil seal drive-in depth
      2.6 to 3.6 mm (0.102 to 0.142 in.) (from the end of the case)

    2. Apply MP grease to the lip of the No. 2 CVT type T oil seal.

      Note


      • Make sure to install the oil seal correctly.

      • If any of the measurements during assembly are incorrect, malfunctions such as oil leaks will result, so make sure to assemble using the specified values.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL

      *a Oil Seal Drive-in Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install a new No. 1 CVT type T oil seal.

      Oil seal drive-in depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.) (from the end of the case)

    2. Apply MP grease to the lip of the No. 1 CVT type T oil seal.

      • Make sure to install the oil seal correctly.

      • If any of the measurements during assembly are incorrect, malfunctions such as oil leaks will result, so make sure to assemble using the specified values.
