SHIFT LEVER DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING


    1. A01VFYJ

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the position indicator housing from the shift lock control unit assembly.

      Note

      Do not damage the position indicator housing.

  2. REMOVE CONTROL POSITION INDICATOR PLATE


    1. A01VLVY

      Disengage the claw and remove the control position indicator plate from the position indicator housing.

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Separate Type Shift Lock Control ECU)

      Disengage the claw and pull out the shift lock control ECU sub-assembly and shift lock unit cover from the shift lock control unit assembly.

    2. A01VEV1

      Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the shift lock solenoid wire from the shift lock unit cover.

    3. Disconnect the shift lock solenoid connector.

    4. A01VK6F

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the shift lock unit cover from the shift lock control ECU sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER


    1. A01VF1E

      Remove the position indicator slide cover from the shift lock control unit assembly.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 POSITION INDICATOR SLIDE COVER


    1. A01VHUZ

      Align the cutouts on the shank of the No. 2 position indicator slide cover and the position indicator slide cover, and remove the No. 2 position indicator slide cover from the position indicator slide cover.

  6. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VHCK

      Separate the indicator light wire socket.

    2. A01VLLO

      Disengage the 4 clamps and separate the indicator light wire sub-assembly.

    3. A01VGAG

      Using a screwdriver, lift up the retainer of the transmission control switch connector to release the lock.

      Component without harness connected

      (Transmission Control Switch)

      Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, pull out terminals 7 and 14 of the transmission control switch connector.

  7. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT BULB


    1. Remove the position indicator light bulb from the indicator light wire sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT CAP


    1. Remove the position indicator light cap from the position indicator light bulb.

  9. REMOVE LOWER POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING


    1. A01VFT7

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the lower position indicator housing from the shift lock control unit assembly.
