SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly from the shift lever assembly.

  2. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX

  3. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the cable end from the shift lever assembly.

      *1 Nut
      *a Rotate Approximately 180°
      *b Disconnect

      Rotate the nut approximately 180° in the direction shown in the illustration, and while holding the nut, separate the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever plate.

      Note

      Rotating the nut too much will damage the internal spring, and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable. Do not turn the nut too far.

  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 2 connectors from the shift lever assembly.

    2. Disengage the 3 clamps and separate the wire harness from the shift lever assembly.

      Remove the 4 bolts and the shift lever assembly.
