SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY


    1. A0048VCE02

      Temporarily install the shift lever assembly to the vehicle with the 4 bolts.

      Note

      Make sure that the wire harness is not pinched by the shift lever assembly installation surface.

    2. Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the 3 clamps to install the wire harness to the shift lever assembly.

    4. Connect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector, transmission control switch connector and shift lock control ECU sub-assembly connector.

  2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      *1 Nut
      *2 Lock
      A0049LZ Rotate approximately 180°
      A004864 Push in

      Rotate the nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximately 180° in the direction shown in the illustration, and while holding the nut, push in the lock.

      Note

      Rotating the nut too much will damage the internal spring, and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable. Do not turn the nut too far.

      A0049LZ Push in

      Install the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • Install the transmission control cable assembly with the protrusion facing upwards.

      • After installation, make sure that the lock is projecting from A as shown in the illustration.

      • Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely locked.

    3. A004766

      Confirm that the shift lever is in N, and then connect the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • Securely install the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

      • Install the end of the transmission control cable assembly so that its adjustment lock section is on the driver side.

  3. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

  4. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  5. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A004861C01
      *1 Shift Lever Knob Cover

      Turn the shift lever knob sub-assembly clockwise to install it to the shift lever assembly.

      Note

      Do not hold the shift lever knob cover when tightening the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  6. INSTALL SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the shift lock release button cover to the shift lever assembly.

  7. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION
