DESCRIPTION

If engine speed and battery voltage are above a certain level while the vehicle is being driven (not start condition) and the STA ON signal is received for a certain amount of time, this DTC is stored.

Following conditions (1), (2) and (3) met for 20 seconds (1-trip detection logic):


  1. Vehicle speed is 20 km/h (12.4 mph) or more.

  2. Engine speed is more than 1000 rpm.

  3. STA signal is ON


  • Park/neutral position switch assembly

  • ST (Starter) relay

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Ignition switch

  • TCM

  • ECM

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (STA SWITCH SIGNAL)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Multi-Mode M/T / Data List / STA Switch Signal.

    5. In accordance with the display on the tester, read the Data List.

  2. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly Click here.

  3. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STA SIGNAL CIRCUIT)


    1. Repair or replace harness or connector (park/neutral position switch - certification ECU - ST relay - ECM - TCM).

  4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    5. Drive the vehicle at more than 20 km/h (12.4 mph) for more than 20 seconds.

    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Multi-Mode M/T.

    7. Read the DTCs Click here.

    1. Remove the ST relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Multi-Mode M/T / Data List / STA Switch Signal.

    3. In accordance with the display on the tester, read the Data List.

    1. Disconnect the ECM connectors.

    3. In accordance with the display on the tester, read the Data List.
