DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

  2. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLIES (for 2NR-FKE)

    Click here

  3. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLIES (for 2ZR-FE)

    Click here

  4. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL


    1. B0047TPE01

      Using SST, remove the transmission case oil seal.

  5. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL


    1. B0047CJE01

      Using SST, remove the transaxle case oil seal.

  6. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL


    1. Coat the lip of a new transmission case oil seal with MP grease.

      Using SST and a hammer, install the transmission case oil seal.

      Driven in depth
      10.6 to 11.6 mm (0.417 to 0.457 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the oil seal lip.

  7. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL


    1. Coat the lip of a new transaxle case oil seal with MP grease.

      Using SST and a hammer, install the transaxle case oil seal.

      Driven in depth
      1.2 to 2.2 mm (0.0472 to 0.0866 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the oil seal lip.

  8. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLIES (for 2NR-FKE)

  10. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

  11. INSPECT MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL LEVEL

  12. INSPECT FOR MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL LEAK
