MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE BATTERY

    Click here

  3. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  4. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER (for LHD)

    Click here

  5. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER (for RHD)

    Click here

  6. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS


    1. A01VFQ1

      Remove the bolt, and disconnect the wire harness.

    2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. A01VGZH

      Disengage the 2 clamps and disconnect the 2 wire harnesses.

    4. Disconnect the back-up light switch connector.

  7. REMOVE RELEASE CYLINDER HEAT INSULATOR


    1. A01VHW7

      Remove the 2 bolts and the release cylinder heat insulator.

  8. SEPARATE CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 bolts and separate the clutch release cylinder.

      Tech Tips

      Suspend the clutch release cylinder with a piece of rope so as not to overload the clutch pipe.

  9. SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made)

    1. Remove the 2 A clips and separate the 2 cables from the control cable bracket.

    2. Remove the 2 B clips and 2 washers, disconnect the 2 cables from the manual transaxle assembly.

  10. SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for TMMF Made)

    1. Remove the 2 A clips and separate the 2 cables from the control cable bracket.

    2. Remove the 2 B clips and disconnect the 2 cables from the manual transaxle assembly.

  11. REMOVE COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET (for LHD)

  13. REMOVE STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  14. REMOVE STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  15. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

  16. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  17. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

  18. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made)

    Click here

  19. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY (for TMMF Made)

    Click here

  20. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  21. DISCONNECT NO. 2 OXYGEN SENSOR CONNECTOR

  22. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  23. SUSPEND ENGINE ASSEMBLY

      Support the engine assembly with an engine lifter so that it is stable shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  25. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD BRACKET


    1. A01VIHD

      Remove the 3 bolts and the engine moving control rod bracket.

  26. SUPPORT MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Support the manual transaxle assembly with a transmission jack so that it is stable.

  27. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH


    1. A01VJ6H

      Remove the 2 bolts and nut and separate the engine mounting insulator LH.

    2. A01VKPF

      Remove the 3 bolts and the engine mounting insulator LH.

  28. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and the engine mounting bracket LH.

  29. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 9 bolts and the manual transaxle.

  30. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER DAMPER

    A01VI9D

    1. Remove the 2 nuts and the shift lever damper.

  31. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET


    1. A01VFJZ

      Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 wire harness clamp brackets.

  32. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVEN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made)


    1. A01VESG

      Remove the bolt and speedometer driven hole cover sub-assembly from the transaxle case.

  33. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION CASE PLUG (for TMMF Made)


    1. A01VEAK

      Remove the manual transaxle case plug and gasket from the manual transaxle case.
