REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE FRONT TAPERED ROLLER BEARING

Using SST, remove the front differential case front tapered roller bearing.
Tech Tips
Set the claw of SST against the bearing inner race at the indented part of the differential case.
Note
When attaching SST to the front differential case front tapered roller bearing, the claws of SST cannot fully grasp the bearing and the bearing may be damaged. Therefore, the bearing cannot be reused.

Using SST, remove the front differential case rear tapered roller bearing.
Tech Tips
Set the claw of SST against the bearing inner race at the indented part of the differential case.
REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL RING GEAR

Place matchmarks on the front differential ring gear and the front differential case.
Remove the 6 bolts.
Using a plastic-faced hammer, remove the front differential ring gear from the front differential case.
INSPECT FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR BACKLASH
REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL PINION SHAFT STRAIGHT PIN
Using a pin punch and hammer, tap out the front differential pinion shaft straight pin.
REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE
Remove the front No. 1 differential pinion shaft from the differential case.
Remove the 2 front differential pinions and 2 front differential side gears from the differential case.
Remove the 2 front differential pinion thrust washers and 2 front differential side gear thrust washers from each gear.
