PROCEDURE
REMOVE INNER NO. 1 SHIFT LEVER (w/o Stop and Start System)
Using a 5 mm pin punch and hammer, remove the inner No. 1 shift lever slotted pin from the shift and select lever shaft.
Tech Tips
Check the orientation of the inner No. 1 shift lever.
Using 2 screwdrivers and a hammer, remove the snap ring from the shift and select lever shaft.
Tech Tips
Use a piece of cloth to prevent the snap ring from flying off.
Remove the inner No. 1 shift lever and shift interlock plate from the shift and select lever shaft.
REMOVE INNER NO. 1 SHIFT LEVER (w/ Stop and Start System)
Using a 5 mm pin punch and hammer, remove the inner No. 1 shift lever slotted pin from the shift and select lever shaft.

Remove the inner No. 1 shift lever and shift interlock plate from the shift and select lever shaft.
REMOVE LOCK BALL HOLDER
Remove the lock ball holder from the shift interlock plate.
Remove the lock ball pin and spring from the lock ball holder.
REMOVE SELECT RETURN COMPRESSION SPRING
Remove the select return compression spring from the shift and select lever shaft.
REMOVE NO. 2 SELECT SPRING SEAT
Remove the No. 2 select spring seat from the shift and select lever shaft.
REMOVE SELECT LEVER SHAFT
Remove the bolt and pull out the select lever shaft from the control shaft cover.
REMOVE SELECT INNER LEVER
Remove the select inner lever from the control shaft cover.
REMOVE SHIFT AND SELECT LEVER SHAFT

Using 2 screwdrivers and a hammer, remove the snap ring from the shift and select lever shaft.
Tech Tips
Lifting the control shaft cover up with a piece of rope or the equivalent makes the work easier.
Use a piece of cloth to prevent the snap ring from flying off.
Remove the shift and select lever shaft with the shift lever boot from the control shaft cover.
Remove the shift lever boot from the shift and select lever shaft.
REMOVE SELECT LEVER SHAFT OIL SEAL

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pry out the select lever shaft oil seal from the control shaft cover.
Note
Be careful not to damage the installation surfaces of the control shaft cover.
REMOVE CONTROL SHAFT COVER OIL SEAL

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pry out the control shaft cover oil seal from the control shaft cover.
