PROCEDURE
REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 1 CLUTCH HOUSING COVER
Remove the No. 1 clutch housing cover from the manual transaxle assembly.
REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING ASSEMBLY
Disengage the release bearing hub clip and remove the clutch release bearing assembly from the clutch release fork.

REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE FORK SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using 2 screwdrivers and a hammer, tap the E-ring out.
Pull the clutch release fork sub-assembly out of the transaxle case to remove the clutch release fork from the transaxle case.
REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE FORK SHAFT OIL SEAL
Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the clutch release fork shaft oil seal.

REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY
Put the matchmarks on the clutch cover assembly and the flywheel sub-assembly.

Loosen each set bolt one turn at a time in the order shown in the illustration until the spring tension is released.
Remove the set bolts and pull off the clutch cover assembly.
Do not drop the clutch disc assembly.
REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY
Remove the clutch disc assembly.
Keep the lining part of the clutch disc and the surfaces of the pressure plate and flywheel free of oil and foreign matter.
