IGNITION SWITCH EXPRESSIONS
The type of ignition switch used on this model differs according to the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section.
| Expression | Ignition Switch (Position) | Engine Switch (Condition) |
|---|---|---|
| Ignition Switch off | LOCK | Off |
| Ignition Switch ACC | ACC | On (ACC) |
| Ignition Switch ON | ON | On (IG) |
| Engine Start | START | Start |
PRECAUTION REGARDING ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
When racing the engine, make sure that the gear is in neutral.
PRECAUTION REGARDING PARTS REMOVAL
Before removing the clutch actuator or transaxle assembly from the vehicle, perform the Active Test to set the clutch actuator to the "Clamp" position Click here.
Note
If the actuator is not set to the "Clamp" position, the clutch fluid may be sprayed out.
Tech Tips
If the clutch actuator cannot be set to the "Clamp" position due to a malfunction (sticking, etc.), then the clutch fluid pressure should be released from the bleeder plug to prevent the fluid from spraying.
PRECAUTION REGARDING PARTS INSTALLATION
Before installing the clutch actuator or transaxle assembly onto the vehicle, perform the Active Test to set the clutch actuator to the "Clamp" position Click here.
If clutch fluid line parts are installed, bleed the air from the lines before performing initialization Click here.
When installing parts related to the multi-mode manual transmission system, perform [Initialization and Learning] and/or [Synchronization Position Calibration]. In addition, the required operations differ according to the parts to be installed. Proceed with the operation in the order shown in the table below.
| Part Installed | Operation Order | See Procedure |
|---|---|---|
|
1. Initialization of Multi-Mode Manual Transaxle System [Initialization of ECU] |
|
| 2. Learning of Multi-Mode Manual Transaxle System | ||
| 3. Synchronization Position Calibration | ||

1. Initialization of Multi-Mode Manual Transaxle System [Initialization of clutch] |
|
| 2. Learning of Multi-Mode Manual Transaxle System |
Note
If the transaxle assembly is removed from the vehicle, a new clutch release with bearing cylinder assembly must be used when it is reinstalled.
After replacing any system components, perform initialization and learning of related components (refer to the operations listed above). If initialization and learning are not performed, the transaxle system will not function properly.
Before proceeding with learning of the multi-mode manual transaxle system, clear (initialize) the previously stored learning values. Since the multi-mode manual transaxle system does not have an overwrite function, clearing (initializing) stored data is necessary to allow the system to learn.
Do not clear (initialize) parts other than those specified in the "Part installed" column in the table above.
