DESCRIPTION

When the stop and start system does not operate, check whether the operation is prohibited because the battery conditions are not met.

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Trouble Codes.

    5. Read the DTCs.

      Conditions for Manual Start:


      • Clutch start switch OFF or vehicle speed signal input

        When the engine is started with the hood open, the system determines that a jump start is being performed.       Tech Tips


      • When the idling stop rate exceeds 40%, turn the ignition switch off and then start the engine again. If NG is still displayed for the Data List item "Oper Permission (Battery)", the battery may be discharged or deteriorated. Check the battery condition and recharge or replace the battery.

      • If recharge or replace battery, initialize the integrated current value using the GTS*1 and drive the vehicle until refresh charge is completed and stop and start control operation is permitted (approximately 15 to 40 minutes) Click here.

Leave the battery under room temperature conditions until its temperature becomes as specified. Then check the battery condition and recharge or replace the battery.

        • After recharging the battery, using the GTS, initialize the integrated current item*.

          *: If the Data List item "Integrated Current" indicates 0 or more, initialization is not necessary.

        • When the battery sensor current value is normal, recharge or replace the battery
