STOP AND START SYSTEM Park / Neutral Position Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The engine stop and start ECU detects the neutral position through the park/neutral position switch attached to the transaxle.

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (NEUTRAL SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Neutral Switch.

    5. In accordance with the display on the tester, read the Data List.

  2. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH


    1. Inspect the park/neutral position switch Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the F13 ignition or starter switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A92 engine stop and start ECU connector.

    3. Disconnect the A58 ECM connector.

    4. Disconnect the B100 park/neutral position switch connector.

    5. Remove the ST relay from No. 2 engine room relay block.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A92-21 (STA) - B100-9 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      A92-28 (CLL) - B100-4 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      F13-7 (ST2), B100-4 (B), A92-28 (CLL) or A58-23 (NSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      ST relay holder 2, B100-9 (L), A92-28 (CLL) or A58-23 (NSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
