DESCRIPTION

The lane departure alert system and LDA indicator (green) in the combination meter assembly turn on or off when the lane departure alert switch is pressed.

Note


  • When replacing the pre-crash safety city sensor, replace it with a new one and be sure to initialize the settings. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the pre-crash safety city sensor will not match the information from the vehicle and, as a result, a DTC may be output.

  • If the pre-crash safety city sensor has been replaced, or the windshield glass has been replaced or removed/installed, be sure to perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

  • Perform adjustment using "ONE TIME RECOGNITION" or "SEQUENTIAL RECOGNITION".


PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly Click here.

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY Click here

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly Click here.

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Click here

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - PRE-CRASH SAFETY CITY SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the F5 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L12 pre-crash safety city sensor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F5-3 (DIST) - L12-3 (LDSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      F5-3 (DIST) or L12-3 (LDSW) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher
      F5-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM (LDA INDICATOR LIGHT)


    1. Check that the LDA indicator light illuminates on the combination meter assembly when the lane departure alert system is turned on using the lane departure alert main switch.
