STARTER(except Cold Area Specification Vehicles) DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

1. Click here

   REMOVE MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the 2 bolts and magnet starter switch assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

   2. 

      *1	Starter Pinion Drive Lever
      *2	Hook

      Remove the hook from the starter pinion drive lever while lifting the rear of the magnet starter switch assembly, and then remove the magnet starter switch assembly.

   REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the 3 through bolts.

   2. Remove the starter yoke assembly.

3. Click here

   REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the starter commutator end frame assembly.

   2. 

      *a

      Hammer

      Remove the starter yoke assembly while holding down the starter armature assembly and the starter brush holder assembly with the handle of a hammer.

      Tip:

      The starter armature assembly will be attracted by the magnetic field of the starter yoke assembly, so the starter armature assembly is held with the handle of the hammer.

4. Click here

   REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the starter armature assembly from the starter brush holder assembly.

5. Click here

   REMOVE STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Remove the rubber seal from the starter drive housing assembly.

   2. 

      Remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

   3. 

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the starter shock absorber from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.

   4. 

      Remove the 3 planet gears from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.
