STARTER(for Transaxle CVT with Stop and Start System) DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS


    1. A01VJTR

      Remove the nut to disconnect the wire harness from the repair service starter kit.

  2. REMOVE REPAIR SERVICE STARTER KIT

      Remove the 2 nuts.

      While lifting the rear of the magnet switch, remove the hook from the pinion drive lever, then remove the repair service starter kit.

    3. Do not drop the plunger when removing the repair service starter kit.

  3. REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

      Using "TORX" socket wrench T25, remove the 2 through bolts.

    2. A01VG18

      Remove the starter yoke assembly, starter armature assembly and starter commutator end frame assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

  4. REMOVE STARTER COMMUTATOR END FRAME ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VDXW

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. A01VHL7

      Remove the starter commutator end frame assembly from the starter yoke.

      Note

      While holding down the lead wire, remove the starter commutator end frame assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

  5. REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VDQ3

      Using a screwdriver, hold the spring back and disconnect the starter brush holder assembly.

    2. Disconnect the 4 brushes, and remove the starter brush holder assembly.

  6. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VF1H

      Remove the starter armature assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

  7. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE PLATE

      Remove the starter armature plate from the starter drive housing assembly or starter yoke assembly.

  8. REMOVE PLANETARY GEAR


    1. A01VKMH

      Remove the 3 planetary gears from the planetary gear.

  9. REMOVE STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *2 Pinion Drive Lever
      *3 Starter Center Bearing Clutch Sub-assembly

      Remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly together with the pinion drive lever and rubber seal from the starter drive housing assembly.

    2. Remove the pinion drive lever and rubber seal from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.
