STARTER(w/ Stop And Start System) DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

   REMOVE REPAIR SERVICE STARTER KIT

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from terminal C.

   2. 

      Remove the 2 nuts and the repair service starter kit from the starter drive housing assembly.

   REMOVE STARTER COMMUTATOR END FRAME ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the cover from the starter drive housing assembly.

   2. 

      Using "TORX" socket wrench T25, remove the 2 through bolts.

   3. 

      While pressing the pinion gear toward the end frame through the starter drive housing assembly, remove the rubber seal from the housing.

   4. Remove the starter yoke assembly, starter with clutch armature assembly and end frame from the starter drive housing assembly.

   5. 

      Remove the 2 screws and end frame.

      Note:

      While holding down the lead wire, remove the starter commutator end frame.

   REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Using a screwdriver, hold the spring back and disconnect the brush from the brush holder.

   2. Disconnect the 4 brushes, and remove the brush holder.

4. Click here

   REMOVE STARTER WITH CLUTCH ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the starter with clutch armature assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

5. Click here

   REMOVE PLANETARY GEAR AND WASHER

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the 3 planetary gears and washer from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.

   REMOVE STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      Remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

      Remove the collar space from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.
