STARTER(for Transaxle CVT with Stop and Start System) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

  2. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Perform "clear number of starter operations" after replacing a starter assembly.

    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the starter assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.4 N*m  { 86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf }
    2. Install the starter assembly to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      After the starter assembly is replaced, be sure to clear the number of starter operations stored in the engine stop and start ECU.

    3. Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness to the wire harness clamp bracket.

    4. Connect the wire harness to the terminal 30 with the nut.

      Torque:
      13.5 N*m  { 138 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
    5. Close the terminal cap.

    6. Connect the starter assembly connector.

  3. CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE INLET A


    1. Engage the clamp to connect the heater water hose inlet A to the heater bracket.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET

  5. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER

    Click here

  7. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY

    Click here

  8. INSTALL BATTERY

    Click here

  9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Perform "clear number of starter operations" after replacing a starter assembly.
