ENGINE OIL COOLER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL GROMMET

   
   

   1. Install the grommet to the oil cooler assembly.

2. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Using an E5 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 3 stud bolts to the oil cooler assembly.

      Torque:

      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

   2. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, install the oil cooler assembly to the vehicle with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:

      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Tighten by holding the bolt and turning the nut.

   3. Engage the clamp to connect the suction hose sub-assembly to the oil cooler assembly.

   4. Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness to the oil cooler assembly.

3. CONNECT OIL COOLER HOSE

   
   

   1. Install a new O-ring to the oil cooler hose.

   2. Apply a light coat of the engine oil to the O-ring.

   3. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, connect the oil cooler hose to the oil cooler assembly with the nut.

      Torque:

      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Make sure that the O-ring is not damaged or does not jump out of position during installation.

4. CONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE

   
   

   1. Install a new O-ring to the No. 1 oil cooler hose.

   2. Apply a light coat of the engine oil to the O-ring.

   3. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, connect the No. 1 oil cooler hose to the oil cooler assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:

      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Make sure that the O-ring is not damaged or does not jump out of position during installation.

5. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

6. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

7. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR

8. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

9. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

   Tech Tips

   Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
