  16. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

  17. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  19. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  24. REMOVE DRAIN PLUG

      Remove the drain plug and gasket from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

  25. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 12 bolts from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the timing chain cover sub-assembly by prying between the timing chain cover sub-assembly and cylinder head sub-assembly and cylinder block sub-assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder head sub-assembly, cylinder block sub-assembly and timing chain cover sub-assembly.

      Remove the oil pump gasket from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

  26. REMOVE TIMING GEAR COVER TIGHT PLUG

      Using an 8 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the timing gear tight plug from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

  27. REMOVE VENTILATION CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VITL

      Remove the 2 bolts and ventilation case sub-assembly from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

  28. REMOVE STUD BOLT


    1. A01VI98

      Using double nuts, remove the stud bolt from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

  29. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL

      Using a wooden block and a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pry out the timing chain cover oil seal from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.
