PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

  6. REMOVE EGR INLET EXHAUST MANIFOLD PLATE

  7. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  10. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

    Click here

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 IGNITION COIL

    Click here

  12. DISCONNECT DUTY VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE

    Click here

  13. SEPARATE VENTILATION HOSE

  14. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

      Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

    2. Disconnect the water by-pass hose and remove the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

    3. A01VHKL

      Remove the water by-pass pipe gasket from the cylinder head.

  16. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made)

  17. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMMF Made)

  18. REMOVE OIL STRAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  19. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET


    1. A01VDRL

      Remove the 3 bolts and oil filter bracket.

    2. A01VLKP

      Remove the oil filter bracket gasket from the timing chain cover.

  21. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

  22. REMOVE TIGHT PLUG

    Click here

  23. REMOVE DRAIN PLUG

    Click here

  24. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 11 bolts from the timing chain cover.

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the timing chain cover by prying between the cylinder head and cylinder block.

      Note

      Do not damage the contact surfaces of the timing chain cover, cylinder head or cylinder block.

      Remove the oil pump gasket from the cylinder block.
