THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

   INSTALL WATER INLET WITH THERMOSTAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Install a new No. 2 water inlet housing gasket to the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly.

   2. Install the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly to the timing chain cover assembly with the 3 bolts.

      10 N*m

      102 kgf*cm

      7 ft.*lbf

2. Click here

   CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

   Click here

3. Click here

   INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

   
   

   1. Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose to the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly and slide the hose clip to secure it.

   2. 

      *a	Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Using a 12 mm union nut wrench, install the No. 1 water by-pass pipe to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Specified tightening torque
      22 N*m	224 kgf*cm	16 ft.*lbf

      Tip:
      

      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

      • When using 12 mm union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 20 mm (0.79 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 162 mm (6.38 in.)):

        19.6 N*m (200 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)

   ADD ENGINE COOLANT
