STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL MARK ORNAMENT (for GRMN)

   
   

   1. 

      Install a new steering wheel mark ornament.

2. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL LOWER BOSS COVER

   
   

   1. Engage the 4 claws and install the steering wheel lower boss cover.

3. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

4. INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

   Click here

5. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

   Click here

6. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Shift Paddle Switch)

   
   

   1. Engage the 4 claws and 4 guides and install the steering pad switch assembly.

   2. Install the 2 screws.

      Torque:

      2.4 N*m  { 24 kgf*cm, 21 in.*lbf }

   3. Engage the clamp to the steering wheel assembly.

7. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

   
   

   1. Engage the 4 claws and 4 guides and install the steering pad switch assembly.

   2. Install the 2 screws.

      Torque:

      2.4 N*m  { 24 kgf*cm, 21 in.*lbf }

   3. Connect the connector to the No. 1 switch wire.

   4. Engage the clamp to the steering wheel assembly.

8. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

9. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Align the matchmarks and install the steering wheel assembly onto the steering column assembly.

   2. Install the nut.

      Torque:

      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }

   3. Connect all the connectors to the spiral cable.

10. INSTALL STEERING PAD

11. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER

    Click here

12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:

    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
