AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM(for Radio Receiver Type) Radio Broadcast cannot be Received or Poor Reception

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the radio automatic station search function.


      1. Check the radio automatic station search function by activating it.

        OK
        The radio automatic station search function works properly.

    OK
    NG
  2. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS


    1. Check if any optional components, such as a telephone antenna, are installed.

      Do not remove optional components without the permission of the customer.

  3. CHECK ANTENNA FOR NOISE PRODUCTION


    1. With the ignition switch ACC, turn on the radio and select the AM mode.

    2. Remove the roof antenna pole sub-assembly.

    3. Place the tip of a screwdriver on the antenna and check that noise is heard from the speaker.

      OK
      Noise occurs.
    4. Install the roof antenna pole sub-assembly.

  4. CHECK INSTALLATION OF ANTENNA GROUND


    1. Check that the amplifier antenna ground is securely fastened to the body.

      OK
      Ground is securely fastened to body.
    2. Check that the antenna cord sub-assembly ground is securely fastened to the body.

      OK
      Ground is securely fastened to body.

  5. CHECK AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the amplifier antenna connectors.

    2. With the ignition switch ON, turn on the radio and select the AM mode.

    3. Place the tip of a screwdriver against the metal terminal of the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly and check that noise is heard from speakers.

      OK
      Noise occurs.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - Body ground During radio (AM) reception 11 to 14 V
    5. Reconnect the amplifier antenna connectors.

  6. CHECK NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connectors.

    2. With the ignition switch ACC, turn on the radio and select the AM mode.

    3. Place the tip of a screwdriver against the metal terminal of the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly and check that noise is heard from speakers.

      OK
      Noise occurs.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    5. Reconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connectors.

  7. CHECK RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. A004953

      Disconnect the antenna connector from the radio receiver assembly.

    2. With the radio receiver assembly connector connected, turn the ignition switch to ACC.

    3. Turn on the radio and select the AM mode.

    4. Place the tip of a screwdriver against the metal terminal of the radio receiver assembly and check that noise is heard from the speaker.

      OK
      Noise occurs.
    5. A004B6LE01

      Reconnect the antenna connector to the radio receiver assembly.

    6. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
