CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
CAUTION:
When engine assembly and radiator assembly is hot, do not remove the reserve tank cap (for Intercooler).
Fluid and steam may spray out due to high pressure, possibly resulting in burns.
PROCEDURE
INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Intercooler)
Warm up the engine.
Check that there are no leaks from the intercooler cooling radiator assembly, supercharger assembly, charge water cooler pump or any of the hoses.
If there are no external leaks, check for internal leaks inside the supercharger assembly.
INSPECT COOLANT LEVEL (for Intercooler)
| *a | MAX Line |
| *b | Bottom Line |
When the engine is cool, check that the fluid level is between the MAX line and the bottom line of the intercooler reserve tank assembly.
If the coolant level is low, check for leaks and add TOYOTA Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) or similar high quality ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite, and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology up to the MAX line.
Note
Do not substitute plain water for coolant.
INSPECT COOLANT QUALITY (for Intercooler)
Remove the reserve tank cap (for Intercooler).
Check that there are no excessive deposits of rust or scale around the reserve tank cap (for Intercooler) and that the coolant is free of oil.
If the coolant is excessively dirty, replace the coolant.
Install the reserve tank cap (for Intercooler).
