INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET


    1. Install a new No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket to the intake manifold.

  2. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. Clean the bolt holes.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that there is no oil or grease on the threads of the bolts or the bolt holes.

    2. Temporarily install the intake manifold to the cylinder head sub-assembly with the 3 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Tighten the 3 bolts and 2 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      24 N*m  { 245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

    4. Engage the 3 clamps to connect the wire harness to the intake manifold.

    5. Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness to the intake manifold.

    6. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.4 N*m  { 86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf }

  3. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the ventilation hose assembly to the intake manifold and slide hose clip to secure it.

  4. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold.

  5. CONNECT UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE


    1. Connect the union to connector tube hose to the intake manifold and slide the hose clip to secure it.

  6. CONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. Engage the clamp to connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose to the hose clamp.

  7. INSTALL STUD BOLT


    1. Using "TORX" socket wrench E6, install the 2 stud bolts to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)

  10. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR)

  11. INSTALL EGR COOLER ASSEMBLY
