EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. SEPARATE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Disconnect the No. 2 heated oxygen sensor connector.

   2. 

      Disengage the 3 clamps to disconnect the No. 2 heated oxygen sensor wire from the fan shroud.

   3. 

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs to separate the front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold.

   4. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the exhaust manifold.

2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

3. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay from the exhaust manifold and cylinder block sub-assembly.

4. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the 2 bolts, 4 nuts and exhaust manifold from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

5. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold.

6. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

7. REMOVE INLET EGR GASKET

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the inlet EGR gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
