EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. SEPARATE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VHVQ

      Disconnect the connector of the No. 2 heated oxygen sensor.

    2. A01VJQG

      Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the No. 2 heated oxygen sensor wire from the fan shroud.

    3. A01VDZ9

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and separate the front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.

  2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

  3. REMOVE EGR INLET EXHAUST MANIFOLD PLATE


    1. A01VH20

      Remove the 2 bolts and EGR inlet exhaust manifold plate from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

  4. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY


    1. A01VKI4

      Remove the bolt and nut, and remove the manifold stay from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VJ65

      Remove the 2 bolts and 4 nuts, and remove the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket and inlet EGR gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR


    1. A01VKSG

      Remove the 2 bolts and remove the No. 1 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
