EGR COOLER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL EGR PIPE CONNECTOR


    1. Install the 2 stud bolts to the EGR cooler assembly.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install the new No. 1 EGR cooler gasket and EGR by-pass valve to the EGR cooler assembly.

    3. Install the new No. 2 EGR cooler gasket and EGR pipe connector with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL EGR WITH COOLER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the new EGR pipe gasket and inlet EGR gasket to the cylinder head and electric EGR control valve.

    2. Install the EGR cooler assembly with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

      Connect the vacuum hose, No. 2 oil cooler hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose to the EGR cooler assembly.

    4. Install the turbo pressure sensor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }

    5. Connect the vacuum transmitting hose to the turbo pressure sensor.

    6. Connect the 2 connectors and engage the wire harness clamp.

    7. Install the wire harness with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.4 N*m  { 86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf }

    8. Connect the connector and engage the wire harness clamp.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY

  4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  6. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER
