PCV VALVE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Check the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) operation.

      
      
      1.

         *a	Clean Hose
         	Air

         As shown in the illustration, install the clean hose to the A side of the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

      2. Apply compressed air from the A side as shown in the illustration, and check that air comes out from the B side.

         CAUTION:

         
         

         • Do not suck air through the valve.

         • Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

         If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

      3. Remove the clean hose from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

         As shown in the illustration, install the clean hose to the B side of the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

      5. Apply compressed air from the B side as shown in the illustration, and check that air does not come out from the A side.

         CAUTION:

         
         

         • Do not suck air through the valve.

         • Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

         If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

      6. Remove the clean hose from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
